Experience
My motivation is helping eager youth achieve their full potential by overcoming their challenges academically. I am able to achieve this by getting to know my students' strong points, and designing my lessons in a way to highlight those strengths. As a mother of two, I understand the importance of guiding and helping children with educational challenges. In addition to teaching preschool classes, I have been working as a social worker for the last twenty years, and I have worked closely with children with mental health and developmental problems. I also do volunteer work at my children's school, where I get to know their teachers and learn more about the style of teaching in the classroom.I believe that in order to prepare students to work successfully in the classroom, the teacher must first learn how to eliminate the barriers that inhibit learning. By doing this, the students will become excited and more engaged in the learning process. One of the greatest rewards I get through teaching is being allowed the opportunity to see my students' faces when they understand a difficult concept.I am a flexible teacher who utilizes many different methods to ensure that my lessons are interesting and engaging. I am able to teach elementary mathematics, reading, writing, English, and standardized test preparation.
